If you haven’t seen it already and need some context for the conniption fit I’m about to throw, here is the letter in full.
O.k. Are you sitting down? Are you properly medicated? Have you found your “happy place?” Good…Ron Paul is not going to be the nominee of the Republican Party.
There is no plausible scenario that ends with Dr. Paul taking the nomination. Assuming that scandal and bad luck bring down McCain, Romney, Huckabee, Thompson, and Guiliani, Duncan Hunter with his one delegate still has a better chance of being the nominee than Dr. Paul does.
If the letter had stopped after the first part and just ended with “We are Republicans and we will not support this candidate,” then fine. That has utility. But to turn around and suggest that Dr. Paul is the only candidate that can win in November undermines any credibility that a letter from disgruntled conservatives to the GOP might have had.
The arguments made for why Dr. Paul can win are suspect at best. I admire and respect Dr. Paul, he is one of my heroes, but the 9 reasons that he can win don’t hold water (except points 2, 4, and 8 which are true, but don’t really make the case). Most are little more than opinion predicated on a suspension of disbelief.
If this movement is to have a lasting impact and change our nation, we must, ultimately, move beyond the “Cult of Ron” to identify and promote a new generation of leaders, intellectuals, activists, and voters that can coalesce around the ideas that Dr. Paul has so brilliantly presented us with.
Dr. Paul has inspired and challenged us. He has set us on a path towards the redemption of our nation and our shared values, but he cannot carry us. It is up to us. Our time is now.

I sure could use some help on the Barr campaign :).
You are right if Paul was still in I would still be working on his campaign. He is not. If you want to beat McWar then I need your help on the Barr campaign.

Don-
I had the same thoughts about this letter. Showing the GOP that there is a large block of swing voters who could be won if a candidate respects the Constitution and individual liberty is commendable.
Demanding the impossible only will make the GOP tune out the demands of Ron Paul supporters.
Barr for sure will not get close to winning either. We want things to change we will have to UNITE under one (though unlikely) canidiate.
Sign the letter and spread the word.
