Don-
What about Jim Webb for Obama’s VP? Fred Reed makes the case here, but leaves out two key points:
1) He’s (relatively) good on the Second Amendment. After all, he does bring his gun to Congress!
2) He appears genuinely anti-war. He has an a son fighting in Iraq and he seems unlikely to want to play toy soldiers with real American lives.

If Obama picks Sen. Webb for his V.P. then I would have to really re-think about voting for him. Granted the V.P. doesn’t do much, unless it’s Cheney, but Sen. Webb is a good man. Another guy, that would make me think about voting for Obama is the Montana Gov. He’s a HUGE 2nd Amendment guy as well.
But for Webb, He’s awesome on the 2nd Amendment and he’s a states rights kind of guy. My kind of politician.
I doubt it will happen.
Webb is solid (for a Democrat), but doesn’t it seem that Obama’s decision will have to in some way reflect the interest of Hillary’s voters? Either with a woman or someone identified with the plight of blue collar Democrats. I wouldn’t rule out the governors of either Kansas or Arizona. Janet Napolitano is very poplar and might even put Arizona in play.
