Kent Snyder, RIP

Ron Paul 2008 Campaign Chairman Kent Snyder has died from complications related to pneumonia. It is hard to find words right now, but I wanted everyone to know how much this sweet, earnest and committed man meant to Ron, the staff, and the movement. The battle for human liberty and human dignity have lost a giant. Please join me in praying for his family, friends and many admirers.

Kent, along with Lew Moore, gave me my first shot in national politics and I will always be profoundly grateful.

We have been praying for his recovery and are shocked and saddened that this could happen.

I am so sorry for Kent’s family and friends and most of all, those of us who know how hard Kent worked for Ron Paul. This is such a great loss.

I worked closely with Kent, who started off the Ron Paul campaign exploratory committee here with me in Pembroke NH on February 24th of 2007.

At that time Kent brought Ron to meet with 300 people I invited to a house party held at the home of a friend, who generously allowed us to invade his space. We raised about $25,000 thus encouraging Ron to run for office.

Thus the Revolution was born. People could not wait for Ron to declare formally which he eventually did in March.

    Kent, you will be missed.

Long before I ever met Kent in person, I knew him as the voice of the Liberty Committee. His e-mail alerts allowed us to mobilize to impact congressional votes, and track representative’s voting records and hold them accountable. I had hoped that he would go back to this after the campaign because it was such important work.

My heart goes out to Kent’s family and friends. He was a Revolutionary way before it became our anthem. I’m glad his long illness has ended and that his soul and spirit are, at last, free.

What a man, Mr. Snyder. Dr. Paul is right about his soft spoken manner. It’s funny how Snyder in so many ways was a reflection of Dr. Paul. He was definitely the best man to represent Paul in the Presidential Campaign as he was the perfect communicator, but never a show-off. He will be greatly missed. I had looked for him to introduce Dr. Paul at the upcoming march and at the Minnesota convention. That won’t happen now but I’ll never forget his face as one of the friendly faces in our battle to take back our country, save our sovereignty and protect our freedoms!

…Many of us won’t make it through to see the end of the battle. We recently lost George Carlin who, although more rough in his speech, was another ally in this battle to wake up a sleeping electorate. He used coarse humor but like Kent Snyder, he loved this country. These men are the true patriots that our Hannitys of the world don’t discuss. They never talk about these men.

This is why it is imperative that we aggressively move forward in our endeavors to take back our country. We cannot waste one day, as a day is not promised to any of us. We should hope and pray that when we leave this earth that it can be said that we worked dilligently like Mr. Snyder in waking up our neighbors about the true condition of our country.

We all need to know that we CANNOT afford to worship good men like Dr. Paul, Mr. Snyder and countless others in this movement. They are gifts that have been given to us for a period of time to pass on the baton of knowledge so that we in return can pass it on to others.

Let us not be concerned about what the status quo thinks of our passion to preserve this Republic and be bold like Mr. Snyder and George Carlin. BE BOLD Patriots with a capital “P”. Let’s not whisper the truth and hide it but be open with the truth. It concerns me that some in our movement are so politically correct that they are concerned more about how “insane” they will be perceived by the mainstream crowd in educating others about our current state. Great men like Snyder will pass on but let’s not let them die in vain. They weren’t concerned about what others thought and niether should we.

Tearfully, I plead with all of you to be bold like Mr. Snyder. We have to be ready to take the baton and run with it. Too many good people are putting their lives on the line to give us the courage to fight. Be bold. That is how we honor Mr. Snyder.
