you would not think it difficult to patrol a shipping thoroughfare that all ships would use.

so what seems to be the problem ???

throwing sanctions on an already improvished nation will only fester more hatred & thus more pirates you would think …

why not try & solve the deep rooted problems & create employment in the area so they become preoccupied elsewhere ???

yeh i know easier said than done but you just never know ….

I agree trying to step up and build a naval force to be omnipresent seems like an obvious waste of time, money and is a non-solution to the problem. As one of the previous visitors stated, many of these problems pertain to the poor economic and overall living conditions in these areas. Working with other nations to address these issues should definitely be part of the solution. I also find it amazing that in many instances, these pirates are staging their operations in fairly open areas. It would seem to me this is another area that should be targeted.
