Rasmussen Polling asks:
Should the Supreme Court make decisions based on what’s written in the Constitution and legal precedents or should it be guided mostly by a sense of fairness and justice?
60% What’s written in the constitution

The Role of the Courts
McCain, Barr and Guns
Not long ago I randomly met a Libertarian Party staffer in a local drinking establishment who told me that the Barr campaign has high hopes for landing the endorsement of the NRA.
While I think he probably should get it (Barr gets an A+ rating from the group and is an NRA board member, while McCain [...]
A Good Day At the US Supreme Court
Today the Supreme Court ruled on three cases. I can’t speak to the third, but two - one on free speech and one on the Second Amendment - are victories for individual rights.
In Davis v. FEC the court invalidated the so-called “Millionaires Amendment” of the McCain-Feingold campaign finance speech regulation.

My inaugural post on the Ron Paul Blog was delayed by a few days because after 8 months in the trenches of the presidential campaign, I needed to relax and recharge my batteries. That meant a visit to Costa Rica.
I find the “Rich Coast,” as Columbus coined it, to be an interesting study in comparative [...]

Ron Paul Scores Only Perfect Rating in Freedom Index
In the New American magazine’s latest issue, Ron Paul was the only Congressman to score a perfect 100% score.
The result isn’t suprising since “The Freedom Index” describes itself as “A Congressional Scorecard Based on the U.S. Constitution.” The average House score was only 40% and Paul was the only Congressman over 90%.
A PDF of [...]
